Polyester is a synthetic polymer - a kind of plastic Factories use this material in substances as PET bottles, but we also use it to create into extremely strong material fibres. We weave these fibres into polyester cloth, a durable material that is resistant to stretching, staining, wrinkling and water damage. The polyester cloth is easy to keep clean, with most stains treatable by spot cleaning with a damp cloth. If necessary, polyester is machine washable, dries easily and will not shrink in the wash. It does not require ironing and can be dry-cleaned if desired. It comes in a huge array of colours, weights and textures, which is why it plays such a major role in the construction of so many different types of bags.

Polycanvas is simply a polyester fabric designed to mimic the look and feel of canvas. It is more water-resistant than canvas and easier to keep clean. Its colours tend to fade less readily. Polycanvas is not to be confused with PU canvas, which is a cotton canvas with a polyurethane coating.

The base price advertised for our branded bags is for one colour printing on your units. The cost of printing increases depending on the number of colours you need in the final product. If your artwork contains a large number of different colours and shades, the most economical way to print is as a full-colour print, rather than paying for each different colour.

Planet Bag provides high quality branded bags--but even high-quality bags will last longer with just a little care. Here are some great tips for keeping your promotional bags in the best condition for longer.
Do not overfill bags. This can stretch the material and the handles, reducing the bag's useful lifespan.
Do not throw or drop bags -- this is common sense, but it is surprising how many people mistreat bags. This can be bad for both the bag and its contents.
Be careful where you place your bag when outside, or on public transport.
Be careful about keeping drinks or other cold objects in your bag. The condensation can get the inside of your bag wet.
Do not leave food in any bag for an excessive period. It can easily go bad, leaving an unpleasant smell.
Do not put sharp objects in your bag, unless they are held in containers.
Do not put uncapped pens in your bag.
Clean your bag regularly.
Do not leave bags close to heaters or other sources of ignition.
Cleaning your branded bag on a regular basis can protect both your bag and its contents. How you clean your bag depends on what sort of bag it is and the material used in its construction, but there are a few general things to do before washing any bag.
Make sure bag is empty before washing.
If possible, spot clean the stained area rather than washing the entire bag.
Make sure your bag is completely dry before using it.
Check any tag on your bag for cleaning instructions.
Cleaning Branded Calico Bags
Calico is a cotton fabric, and so can be machine washed on a gentle cycle and hung up to dry. If your bag wrinkles during this procedure, you can simply iron them after cleaning on a cotton setting.
How To Clean Canvas Bags
It is possible to wash your canvas bag in a machine, but we do not recommend this method without double-checking that your bag's label says 'machine washable' before trying. The preferred way of cleaning a canvas bag is hand washing and air drying.
Cleaning Non-Woven Fabric Bags
Non-woven fabric bags can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. They are not suitable for machine washing under any circumstance.
How To Clean Printed Nylon Bags
Wipe bag with a cloth dipped in warm, soapy water. Nylon threads are not very absorbant, so stains can usually be removed by soaking the bag in soapy water, rinsing and drying.
Cleaning Custom Polyester Bags
Machine wash in cold water on gentle cycle and hang upside down to air dry.
Cleaning Personalised Leather Bags
Some of our products are made entirely of leather. You should never machine wash leather. Instead, you can clean leather products with a soft, damp cloth. If your bag contains both leather and cloth elements, we suggest you wipe both.

Ordering in Bulk Direct From Planet Bags
From there, we can help you select the bags you would like, and organise printing and freight. They can also provide a free quote, and arrange for a virtual mockup of the finished product at no extra charge. Once you confirm that you are happy with your artwork design, your bags will be printed locally and freighted to your door, anywhere in Australia.
For most of our branded bags, the minimum recommended order is 25 units, but some have a minimum order of 50 units.
It is possible to purchase fewer, but be aware that costs tend to be spread across a full production run. This quantity issue is why large orders are cheaper than smaller orders. On the flip-side, it may mean that smaller orders come with additional charges. Please ask our friendly sales staff when you make your order.
To make sure that you have the branded bag that suits you best, Planet Bags can provide a free digital bag mock-up or virtual proof. Virtual proofing is a technique where we use sophisticated imaging software to show how your branded artwork would look with a bag of your chosen style and colour.
Virtual proofing ensures you get a preview of the finished product, before printing even begins. In this way, you can make informed, last minute decisions, without additional cost, and in a minimum of time.
The most exciting method to personalise bags today has to be Dye Sublimated Heat Transfer Print. Using this method to brand onto bags will lead to a full colour printed bag that is beautiful and with a finish that is close to being photograph quality. In other words, it creates a perfect full colour print of your branded graphic onto your promotional bag.

We recommend this step f you are ordering a large run of branded promotional bags. Please ask our sales staff for pricing on this option, which can take one to three weeks to carry out. If you are happy with the pre-production sample that we send you, the remaining order will not incur any setup costs for printing, as we can simply reuse the same template. However, if it is necessary to make changes, additional charges may be incurred for re-creating the artwork and template setup costs.
